Updates of Where I’ve Been

Wow, it has been a long long time since I have posted on this page. I have been busy over on my other social media channels which you can check out and working on a lot of projects at work and trying to keep the family ship righted and on course. The success of that last endeavor is always up for debate.

The academic year runs July to June which means it is over half over. It’s been crazy and fun and stressful and has gone by way too quickly.

I am over half way through a health policy fellowship and leadership development program at ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology). I have learned so much and I know that I am just scratching the surface. There are some really incredible people I have met along the way that are making the world a better place.

I am finishing up my PhD in April (I’m currently supposed to be writing that thesis instead of this blog) and I am not going to lie – I have MAJOR impostor syndrome about whether I have done enough to deserve that degree. Impostor syndrome is rampant among academic medicine, and it appears that women experience it disproportionately. Here is some more info on the subject.

The science and research for childhood cancer marches on and once things calms down – I hope to get back to writing more about that. I’m about to upload some articles I wrote for Doximity, which is an online platform for physicians.

More to come in the future my friends!
