Champions

Today I was invited to attend a lovely luncheon that was a ‘Celebration of Champions’  supporting Texas Children’s Cancer Center.  The program honors community champions and patient champions that have worked to bring our community together and support the Cancer Center.  It was fitting that one of the community champions was Olympian Mary Lou Retton and today was the 2018 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony.

Mary Lou Retton with Patient Champion strike a famous pose at the end of the runway.

Dreams ~ Hope ~ Potential

Aren’t these the words that fall into every good Olympic story?  At night, when we close your eyes and the silence surrounds us in those last moments before we drift to sleep, don’t we all HOPE that our children can reach their POTENTIAL and achieve their DREAMS? Cancer can try to snatch this away, but its up to the good people of the world to rise up and keep:

Fighting

Trying

Working

Thinking

Hoping

Loving

Children deserve the chance to grow up and experience life.  It wasn’t long ago when they thought we couldn’t save any.  Now, some say we can’t save them all, but they can’t stop us from trying.
